John Richard Gonzales, passed away on June 10th, 2016 at age 84 with his family by his side. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Margaret, along with children Carroll Thomas (Dorothy), Irwin Thomas (Suzi), Richard Gonzales (Tamara) and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by son Robert Gonzales. John began his career at a young age on a local farm. His truck driving career took off when he went to work at PCA in the early 1950’s. He then went to work, hauling eggs to Pomona, at Kimber Farms. In the late 60’s he went to work at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, as their transport driver. There he had the opportunity to haul baseball, basketball, and football teams to and from their various games. Along with this, he drove various groups on field trips. He also transported livestock to and from events and farms. John enjoyed crossword puzzles, games, puzzles and Louis Lamour books. John will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
