

Regina Rossi Foster, age 89, passed away peacefully at 7 pm Oct 31th, 2016 at Danish Care, in Atascadero, CA. She was raised in Pasadena, CA by her parents Mallon and Madeleine Foster and was the oldest of 4 siblings. She is survived by her younger sister Madeleine McCardy of Paso Robles, CA, brother Rene Foster of Port Orchard, WA and many nieces and nephews, and was predeceased by her brother Andre Foster. Regina lived a rich and full life, attending College of Holy Names in Oakland to complete a sociology degree. She also briefly worked in New York as a nurse. Her real love became teaching, which brought her back to Cal Poly for her master’s degree. She taught at Air Force Dependent Schools throughout in Europe for over 35 years and she received several awards from the White House for her teaching. She was also known locally for volunteering tirelessly to support literacy. She had wonderful adventures and loved to travel, hike and play the violin. She was also member of Catholic Daughters. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Anne Byzantine Catholic Church on Friday, Nov 11th, 2016 at 10:00 am with Reverend Milan Kasperek officiating. St. Anne is located at 222 East Foothill Blvd, San Luis Obispo, CA 93405. A private burial will follow at Old Mission Catholic Cemetery. Chapel of the Roses, Atascadero is handling the funeral arrangements.
