Anna Talley

The funeral for Anna Marie Talley, 61, of Athens will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday at McConnell Funeral Home with the Reverends Jaina Anderson, David Palmer, and Charles Baggett officiating. Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 6-8 pm at McConnell Funeral Home.

Mrs. Talley died Friday, October 04, 2013 at home.

She was born on October 6, 1951 in Limestone County to James Henry Thornton and Lois Patterson Thornton. She graduated from Athens High School in 1969. Mrs. Talley worked for the Alabama Department of Corrections before retiring in 2013. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Athens. She was preceded in death by her father, James Henry Thornton and her mother, Lois Patterson Thornton.

Survivors include her husband, Rodney Talley of Athens; her son, Jason Talley and wife Lindsey Talley of Crossville, Tennessee; her daughter Kerri Beth Owens and husband Jayme Owens of Elkmont; a sister, Bonnie Chambers of Athens; two nephews, Reid Chambers of Auburn and Evan Chambers of Birmingham; and one granddaughter, Mikayla Talley.

Pallbearers will be Bryan Cowart, Darwin Halbrooks, Richard Stover, Timothy tenBerge, Lloyd Wallace, and David J. Wise.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Limestone County, American Cancer Society, or First Presbyterian Church.
