Benjamin Ray Coleman

Marjorie Louise McCallum Coleman, age 88, of Lake Mary, Florida passed away October 2, 2012 and Benjamin Ray Coleman, age 93 of Lake Mary, Florida passed away November 9, 2013. Ray was born September 20, 1920 in Greenville, South Carolina and Marjorie was born July 10, 1924 in Broxton, Georgia. They were married for 65 years.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Sherman and Alice Luvina Woody McCallum. Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin Jesse and Eva Bishop Coleman and 6 siblings.

Marjorie graduated from Mars Hill College in North Carolina and then Baylor University’s registered nurse program. Ray was a WWII veteran and worked for Breon Laboratories as a pharmaceutical representative until his retirement at age 65.

They lived in Gadsden, Anniston and Birmingham, Alabama before moving to Dallas, Texas in 1968. In 2001, they moved to Sparks, Nevada and then on to Orlando and Lake Mary, FL.

They are survived by their three sons, Aaron, Allan (Sherry “Harper” from Athens, AL) and Glenn (Norma “Collins”). Marjorie is survived by her sister, Norenia Meredith Breaux of Cleveland, Tennessee. They are also survived by daughter-in-law, JoAnn Tucker Coleman, five grandchildren, Scott (Amber) Coleman, Ashley (Joe) Lawrence, Alisha Coleman, Melanie (Michael) McCracken and Justin Coleman. They were proud of their six great grandchildren, Chasten, Claire, Kate, Tatum, Madison, Bentley and number seven on the way.

A memorial service will be held, December 27, 2013 at 3 p.m. at McConnell Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers please make any donations to your local Hospice Foundation or charity of choice.
