Dixie Harris Clark

Funeral for Dixie Harris Clark, 88, of Athens will be Tuesday, August 24, 2010, at 11 a.m. at McConnell Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Formby officiating and burial in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Mrs. Clark, died Sunday, August 22, 2010, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born March 26, 1922, in Lawrence County to Virgil Grover Harris and Annie Hampton Harris. She was a member of the United Methodist Church. She loved vegetable and flower gardening, needlework, cooking, country music and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband of 29 years, Woodward Oneal Clark, three sisters, six brothers and special dear friend, Lyle Robinson.

Survivors include daughters; Linda Gail Clark Peel and husband, David Milton of Decatur, Carolyn Sue Clark Tucker and husband, Charlie Eugene of Athens and Sharon Dale Clark LeCroix and husband, George Edward of Decatur; grandchildren, Andrea Leigh Tucker Batch and husband, Russell Earl of Acworth, Ga., Amy Carol Tucker Hagood and husband, Hugh James of Hoover, Dalinda Lorraine Peek Willis and husband, Polan Draughn Jr. of Priceville, Melissa Clark Peek Penley and husband, James William III of Decatur, Jonathan Clark LeCroix of Athens, David Milton Peek Jr. and wife, Katharine Carol of Decatur, Sharon Peyton LeCroix and Anna Kathryn LeCroix, both of Decatur; great-grandchildren, Caroline Hetrick Batch, Madeline Elizabeth Batch, Hunter John David LeCroix, Emma Katherine Batch, Mary Grace Hagood, Tucker James Hagood, Jacob Conrad LeCroix, Ethan Waters Hagood, David Ernest "Buck" Thomas III, James William Penley IV, Charles Russell Batch, Harris Milton Penley and Lane Clark Willis.

Pallbearers will be Jonathan Clark LeCroix, David Milton Peek Jr., Russell Earl Batch, Hugh James Hagood, James William Penley III and Polan Draughn Willis.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Parents and Children Together (PACT), Hospice of the Valley or your favorite charity.
