Elizabeth Spencer

Elizabeth (Bettye) Jones Spencer died peacefully December 1, 2015. She was 87 years old. Mrs. Spencer was born in Walker County, Alabama on January 8, 1928, to Byrd G. and Estelle Jones.

Mrs. Spencer graduated from Athens College, George Peabody College for Teachers and the University of Alabama. She taught typing, shorthand, bookkeeping and later, distributive education for more than 30 years.

Mrs. Spencer was predeceased by her husband, Charles Thomas Spencer, and her brothers, B.G. Jones and William R. Jones.

She is survived by her daughter Patricia Spencer Weber and husband, Jeff of Lynnville, TN and her sons Charles Thomas Spencer, Jr. and wife Sylvia, of Birmingham, and David Alan Spencer, and wife, Kim, of Loganville, GA. Mrs. Spencer is also survived by seven grandchildren: Adella Elizabeth Weber and husband Jay Wozniak of Atlanta, GA, Thomas Spencer Weber and wife, Jennifer, of Atlanta, GA, and Daniel Leyden Weber of Vienna, Virginia, Charles Wesley Spencer, II, and wife Amanda of Birmingham, AL, Chloe Spencer Alexandre of Covington, LA, and Boman Bryant Spencer and Caleb Mitchell Spencer of Loganville, GA; and three great grandchildren: Charles Robbins Weber and Jeffery Allen Weber of Atlanta, Katherine Stuart Spencer of Birmingham.

Visitation will be from 10-11:45 Friday, December 4, 2015 at McConnell Funeral Home. Graveside will be Friday December 4, 2015 at 12 P.M. at Roselawn Cemetery with Rev. Jaina Glaze officiating.

Grandsons will serve as the pallbearers.
