

Visitation will be Wednesday, January 28, 2015: 6-9 P.M. at McConnell Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery.
Mr. Greene passed away Sunday January 25, 2015 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
He was born September 14, 1920 in Limestone County, AL to Claude D. Greene and Lily B. Watkins Greene. He was a WWII, and Korean Veteran, Member of Mt. Pisgah Church. He owned the first TEXACO food mart number 1 on the corner of Clinton and Pryor St.
Mr. Greene is preceded in death by his parents and wife Mary Frances Dupree Greene, one son George O. Greene, two grandsons Michael and Scott Brown, one brother Claude Dewey Greene, Jr. and two sisters Ramona Burrell and Hazel Kazubski.
He is survived by his son Arthur Ray Greene and wife Mae of Athens; four daughters Vicki Long and husband Dan of New Market; Linda Greene and husband Bobby of Athens, AL; Mary Kelly and husband Tommy of Athens; Kay Harbin and husband Perry of Athens; one sister Juanita Alexander of Decatur; one brother Tommy Greene and wife Shirley of Decatur; 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 4 great great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Danny Long, Butch Greene, Greg Greene, Jamie Kelly, Chance Kelly, Christopher Greene, Matthew Long, and Russell Jacobsson.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Anthony Greene, Ethan Waddell, Garrett Binkley, Lucas Binkley, Jacob Brown, and Brandon Edwards.
In Lieu of Flowers make memorials to Veterans of Foreign Wars.
