Visitation will be Thursday February 28, 2013 from 1-2 p.m. at McConnell Funeral Home.
Mrs. Shannon died Monday, February 25, 2013 at Valley View Nursing Home.
She was preceded in death by her husband’s Hester Smith and Jesse Shannon.
She was survived by one son, Hester T. Smith, Jr. and wife Kay of Florence; one daughter, Edwina Chittam and husband Norman of Capshaw. Stepchildren: Peggy O’Kain, Barbara Bateman, Carolyn Shannon, Judi Shannon and Jack Shannon; grandchildren: Leslie Chittam, Angie Chittam Phillips and husband Olan, Kim Chittam Emerson and husband Marty, Greg Smith, Bryan Smith and wife Kim, Donna Pace and husband Chris.
Mrs. Shannon Attended Capshaw Baptist Church all of her life and was the oldest member. She was the retired post master of the Capshaw Post Office.
