James Hobson Abernathy

Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday, November 6, 2015: 12-1:45 p.m. at McConnell Funeral Home.

Mr. Abernathy passed away Tuesday November 3, 2015 at his residence.

He was born August 24, 1939 in Limestone County, AL to Hobson Abernathy and Nina Mae Abernathy.

Mr. Abernathy is preceded in death by his parents, and one sister Nadine Eastep. He was an office machine repairman for over 40 years. He loved spending time with his family, traveling, and hunting.

He is survived by his loving wife Patricia Abernathy of 53 years, two sons Brian Abernathy of Athens, AL, Chad Abernathy and wife Amy of Athens, AL, one daughter Michelle Stanfield and husband Jeff of Hampton Cove, AL, six grandchildren Matthew Abernathy, Logan Shannon, Kaitlyn Abernathy, Austin Abernathy, Andrew Abernathy, and Olivia Abernathy.

Pallbearers will be Matthew Abernathy, Logan Shannon, Austin Abernathy, Marion P. Roberts, Harold Nash, and Jeff Stanfield.
