James Hilton Davis

Visitation will be from noon to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at McConnell Funeral Home.

Mr. Davis died Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2011, at Athens-Limestone Hospital. He was born Feb. 10, 1943, in Limestone County to Grady Hollis Davis and Betty Lucile Marks Davis. He was a 1961 graduate of West Limestone High School. He was the former parts manager for Jack Yarber Ford in Athens. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He was a Christian who has now gone to his heavenly home. He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Dorothy Davis of Athens; two daughters, Kathy Garris and Lindy Davis, both of Athens; two grandchildren, Jake Garris and Morgan Garris, both of Athens; four sisters, Lucy Greenhaw and husband David of Athens, Gail Kyle of Decatur, Ann Locke of Athens, and Barbara Sue Thigpen and husband Cecil of Florence; one brother, Bobby Davis of Athens; one aunt; and nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Jake Garris, Wayne Garris, Cecil Thigpen, Bobby Turner, Royce Adams and Rick Whitworth.
