Joan Andrews Pressnell

Mrs. Pressnell is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dewey Pressnell; and one brother Douglas Andrews.

Survivors include one son Michael Pressnell; two daughters, Mitzi Ferguson (Jason), Tiffany Sands; ten grandchildren, Miranda LeShea Dishner (Mark), Andrea Elizabeth McCravy, Alexis Grace McCravy, Dakota Alan Ball, Grayson Andrew Ball, Madalyn Alise Ball, Dalton Granville Pressnell, Hunter Allen Johnson, Colton Kimbrough, and Marshall Kimbrough; two great-grandchildren, Layla Brymer and Ellie Dishner; two sisters, Gloria Wheeler and Phyllis Kindred.

Mrs. Pressnell was a member of the First Baptist Church in Athens. She retired from Redstone Arsenal after over 30 years of service. She enjoyed bird watching, particularly cardinals and hummingbirds.

There will be a graveside service on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at 1 p.m. at Athens City Cemetery. The visitation will be on Tuesday from 11:30 to 12:45 at McConnell Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Dakota Ball, Grayson Ball, Dalton Pressnell, Mark Dishner, Preston Carr, Mike Medlen.
