Mrs. Katherine Carwile

Visitation was from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

She died Monday, April 18, 2011, at Athens Convalescent Center.

Katherine was born Oct. 6, 1931, in Limestone County to Jack Hill and Eular Colston Hill. She worked at Athens Lingerie for 20 years and Orman’s Hatchery for five years.

Katherine was a very hard worker and conservative with her money. She was a Proverbs 31 woman.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Fulton Carwile; a daughter, Trish Tunstill; three brothers, Willie, Wendell and Danny Hill.

Survivors include a son, Gene Carwile and wife Melisha of Lynchburg, Va.; brothers, Leon Hill and wife Ruth of Toney, Chuck Hill and wife Jean of Decatur, Dwight Hill and wife Kay of Athens, and Jackie Hill and wife Gayle of Athens; sisters, Lillie Posey and husband L.D. of Athens, Sadie Croley and husband Kenneth of Athens, Delanie Wilson of Addison, Dorothy Newton and husband Dexter of Anderson, Kathy Wydock and husband Bob of Unionville, Tenn.; and sister-in-law, Judy Hill of Ardmore, Tenn.

Surviving grandchildren include Rudder Jenkins and wife Amy of Boston, Clint Carwile and wife Amber of Lynchburg, Va., Dr. Gena Mooneyham and husband Jacob of New Jersey, Dr. Charity Carwile of Lynchburg, Va., and Cody Carwile of Lynchburg, Va.

Pallbearers will be Greg McAlister, Heath Hill, Dexter Newton, Clint Carwile and Rudder Jenkins.
