The funeral service for Mary Elizabeth Black, age 83 of Tanner, will be Monday, January 6, 2014 at 2 p.m. at McConnell Memorial Chapel with Donald Terry officiating. The burial will be in Athens Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Monday from 12 – 1:45 p.m. at McConnell Funeral Home.
Mrs. Black died Thursday, January 2, 2014 at her residence.
Mrs. Black was born March 10, 1930 in Limestone County to Victor Ferguson and Mary Lindsay Ferguson. She is preceded in death by her parents and her son James “Tookie” Davis and her brother, Charles Ferguson. She is survived by one granddaughter, Tabitha Davis, one daughter-in-law, Deberah Davis; four brothers, Billy Wayne Ferguson, Donald Ferguson, Dan Ferguson, and Harold Ferguson; three sisters, Betty Jean King, Shirley Ball, and Peggy Williamson.
Pallbearers will be Brian Williamson, David Ferguson, Steve Ferguson, and Rodney Ferguson.
