Ms. McConnell did the job of two men for 30 years at Ford Motor Company Cleveland Foundry, because when she started in 1975 they took two men off the line and asked her to do the job. She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry McConnell and Nora M. Long McConnell, one brother, Sanford McConnell, two sisters, Flarv Thompson and Iva Lee Newton.
Survivors include three sons: Roger D. Byrd, Tommy E. Byrd, James D. Byrd; one brother, Louis McConnell, three sisters, Rasalee Herston, Reba McConnell Tremmel and Nancy Warmen; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
There will be a graveside service Friday, May 5, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Bethel Cemetery in Anderson, AL with Richard Herston and Roger Byrd officiating.
Pallbearers will be Roger Byrd, Dale Byrd, Derrick Byrd, Andy Farmer, Wes Farmer and Kain Byrd.
