Mattie Virginia Pugh, 97, of Elkmont, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at Limestone Health and Rehab. She was born March 5, 1929, in Lauderdale County to William Wheatley and Elmira Rose Wheatley. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Ashford Pugh.
Survivors include one son, Larry Pugh and wife Janet of Elkmont, one sister, Myrtle Medley of Florida.
The funeral service will be Friday, March 27, 2026, at 1p.m. at McConnell Memorial Chapel with Richard Garlen officiating. The visitation will be from 12 to 12:50. Burial will be at Higgins Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Don Wheatley, Jimmy Pugh, Allen Tucker, Jerry Neeley, Terry Pugh, and Justin Rutherford.
