

Visitation was from 6-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
He died Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011, at home.
Mr. Pitts was born May 23, 1945, in Limestone County to Leamon and Mary Frances Jacobs Pitts. He was a Vietnam veteran, a retired truck driver, and former owner of M&C Grounds Keepers. He was an avid woodworker.
Mr. Pitts was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lois Pitts; a son, Marcus Pitts; and brother, Winford Pitts.
Survivors include daughter, Melissa Glassco and husband David of Huntsville; stepsons, Wesley McKnight of Madison, Randy McKnight and wife Angie of Elkmont; stepdaughters, Gail Terry and husband Myles of Elkmont, Sandy McKnight and fiancée Randy Self of Athens; brothers, Billy Pitts and wife Jenifer of Elkmont, Robert Pitts and wife Judy of Columbia, Tenn.; sister, Linda McGlockin and husband Bobby of Decatur; grandchildren, Cody and Kristen Brooks; step-grandchildren, Jimmy Gatlin, Dakota Kimbrough, Patrick and Christina Brewer, Savannah and Ethan McKnight; step-great-grandchildren, Avery and Kinsley Gatlin.
Pallbearers were Jimmy Gatlin, Dakota Kimbrough, Patrick Brewer, Cody Brooks, Justin Pitts and Gene Warren. Honorary pallbearers were Jeff Kimbrough and Myles Terry.
