Norma Jean McGrady, born Norma Jean Smith, went to the Lord Wednesday, November 29, 2017 around 2:45p.m. at Huntsville hospital at the age of 77 years old. She was surrounded by her sons, Timothy Mardis and Christian Mardis, and their wives, Kimberly Mardis and Sheree Mardis.
Norma Jean, as she was recognized, was born in Athens, Alabama where she went to school and lived until her passing. Norma Jean is preceded in death by her father Roy Marvin Smith (died in the Lucien Islands, WWII), her mother Exie Lawler Woods, her step father Joseph Edward Woods, and her daughter, Kimberly Coleman Tyler.
Norma Jean is survived by her sons Timothy (Kimberly) Mardis, and Christian (Sheree) Mardis, daughter Virginia McGrady, grandchildren Connor Mardis, Ryan Mardis, Stephen Mardis, and Brooke Mardis, great-grandchildren Christopher McClain, Joshua McClain and Blair McNeese.
