Nova Linda Hawkins

Funeral services for Linda Hawkins, age 69, of Athens will be Monday, December 3; 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at McConnell Memorial Chapel with Roland Lee and Brent Hawkins officiating. Ms. Hawkins died Friday, November 30, 2012 at her residence.

Burial will be in Athens Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be Sunday, December 2, 2012 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at McConnell Funeral Home.

Linda Hawkins was born February 24, 1943 in Madison County, AL to Glen Yarbrough and Nova E. Locke Yarbrough. Ms. Hawkins was a homemaker and she worked at Huntsville Hospital. She loved spending time with her family and gardening.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister-in-law, Joan Yarbrough.

She is survived by one son, Brent Hawkins and wife Kara of Elkmont, AL; one daughter, Kelly Lewis and husband Ronnie of Athens, AL; three brothers, Jerry Yarbrough of Harvest, AL; Jackie Yarbrough of Athens, AL; Jeff Yarbrough and wife Diane of Athens, AL; three grandchildren, David Lewis of Athens, AL, Sloan Hawkins, Bodie Hawkins and wife Beth of Elkmont, AL; two great-grandchildren, Cade Hawkins and Liddy Hawkins; one uncle, Milford Locke of Athens, AL; former spouse and father of her children, Johnny Hawkins; one niece and four nephews.

Pallbearers will be Sloan Hawkins, David Lewis, Bodie Hawkins, Peanut Abercrombie, Will Yarbrough, and Dewayne Uselton.
