Graveside service for Rebecca L. Wise, age 53 of Athens, will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Butler Cemetery with Rev. Dustin Marks officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 6 – 8 p.m. at McConnell Funeral Home.
Ms. Wise passed away Monday, March 9th at Huntsville Hospital. She was born November 18, 1961 in Madison county Alabama to Raymond C. Butler and Pauline Wallace Butler. She was a charge nurse for several years. Ms. Wise was a best friend, daughter, mother, grandmother, and a “mom” to many people. She is preceded in death by her father Raymond C. Butler, one brother, Rhett Butler, one sister, Patricia Butler.
She is survived by her mother, Pauline Butler of Athens, 2 sons, Dustin Marks of Clermont, FL; Patrick Wise of Athens; 2 daughters, Veronica Wise and Jessica Wise both of Athens; 6 grandchildren, Alexander B. Marks, Zoey A. Johnson, Kambrea R. Johnson, Braelyn J. Johnson, Memphis A. Johnson, and Olivia G. Wise; one sister, Diane Harsha and husband Tim of Franklin, TN; niece, Melanie Harsha of Boone, NC; and her special 4 legged friend, Emma Butler.
