Ruthie Mae Wheatley

Ms. Ruthie Mae Wheatley, 91 of Elkmont, AL, passed peacefully at her residence, to her Heavenly home on Sunday July 18, 2021. Arrangements have been made at McConnell Funeral Home; visitation will be Tuesday July 20th from 6:00pm until 8:00pm, and funeral will be Wednesday July 21st, at 12pm in the chapel. Burial will be at Lentzville Cemetery following the service.

Ruthie was born on July 12, 1930, to William Ellis Wheatley, SR. and Francis Elmira Rose Wheatley. She was a homemaker and a mother.

Ruthie is preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Joe Wheatley; three sisters, Pat Music, Wilma Green, and Sue Penley; and two great-grandchildren, Kaycen and Kaiden Hunt.

She is survived by one daughter, Cathy Balch; two sons, Lyndell Wheatley and wife Renee, and Don Wheatley and wife Selina; two brothers, William Ellis Wheatley, JR. and wife Josie, and Louis Adrian “Dean” Wheatley and wife Janie; two sisters, Mattie Pugh and Myrtle Medley; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Earl Glaze, Donnie Hill, Heath McElyea, Edward Miller, Sonny Miller, and Logan Murphy
