A native of Athens, GA Mr. Hale was the son of the late Jasper Lee Hale and Sarah McCune Hale and was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Hale. He served in the United States Air Force and retired from Westclox.
Survivors include his wife, Nellie Porter Hale of Watkinsville; sons, Steve Hale of Nicholson and David Hale of Watkinsville; sister, Ann Kitchens of Winterville; granddaughter, Amanda Shook of Nicholson; 2 great-grandchildren, Hanna and Alex Shook; 1 niece, and 4 nephews.
A graveside service will be held 3PM Sunday, July 5th at Evergreen Memorial Park with Rev. Ray Wuerzer officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the East Athens Baptist Church Building Fund, 4325 Lexington Rd., Athens, GA 30605.
