She was preceded in death by her parents, John Roy Thomason and Virginia Thomason Jackson; and her brother, Wayne W. Thomason.

She is survived by her siblings: Gail T. Seals, Audrey K. Burke (Claude), and Phillip A. Thomason; also nephews: Richard Burke (Monica), and Jeff Burke.

Carol was born in Jacksonville, Florida and as a young adult moved to California where she lived until moving to Athens in 2012. While in California and working as a typist in the Aerospace Industry, she felt the call to study through the ministerial training program at Lighthouse of Prayer Church in Covina, California.

She was ordained to the work of the Gospel of the Lord in 1987. Carol spent her retirement years using her natural artistic talent and love of the Bible to create expressions of love for the Lord.

A funeral service for Carol will be held Thursday, April 4, 2024 at 2:00 p.m., in the Bernstein Funeral Home Chapel, 3195 Atlanta Highway, Athens, Georgia 30606.

Carol will be laid to rest in Oconee Hill Cemetery, 297 Cemetery St., Athens, Georgia 30605.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Athens First Assembly of God, 1225 College Station Rd., Athens, GA 30605.
