Carolyn was born, at home, in Oglethorpe County to the late Fred Eugene Gunter and Mary Sanders Gunter and lived most of her life in Oglethorpe County. She graduated from Oglethorpe County High School and was a member of Briarwood Baptist Church in Watkinsville. Carolyn worked for many years as an accounting clerk with Webb Crawford Transportation and later McLane Southeast Transportation and was an avid reader.
In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her infant sister, Martha Jeane Gunter; her brother, Frank Gunter and nephew, Robert Gunter Hughes.
Carolyn is survived by her sister, Betty Ann Westbrook of Danielsville; niece, Mary Sanders White and her husband, Conn, of Hudson Oaks, TX; nephews, Frank Conrad Westbrook and his wife, Gina, of Orange City, FL; and Lovic Eugene Westbrook and his wife, Jeri of Watkinsville; nine grandnieces and nephews.
A private memorial graveside service will be held at a later date in Kent-Gunter Cemetery in the Sandy Cross Community in Oglethorpe County.
