

Born in Clarke County, he was son of Hentietta T. Martin and the late J. M. Martin. He was also preceded in death by a sister Joy Martin. Charles passion was his truck driving and he retired after many years in the freight industry. During his career he met and made many friends and enjoyed staying in contact with them. He also loved golfing with his many friends and had many golfing buddies and was also a member of the Hull Baptist Church.
Survivors in addition to his mother are his wife Jean Coker Martin of Hull; daughter and son in law Teresa and Scotty Beck of Nicholson; sons and daughters in law Travis and Kelly Martin of Suwanee and James and Mary Martin of Rock Hill, SC; brothers and sisters in law Tal and Judy Martin of Hull and Mickey and Mary Beth Martin of Winterville; sister and brother in law Shyron and Jim Ivey of Monroe and sister Susan Daniel of Danielsville; 9 grandchildren and his daily companions Lily and Thunder.
Graveside services will be 4PM Saturday at Evergreen Memorial Park with Rev. Randy Crowe officiating. The family will receive friends 6-8 pm Friday at Bernstein.
Flowers will be accepted or donations be made to the Southern Care Hospice, 5095 Jefferson Rd #110, Athens, GA 30607. They would also like to extend a special thanks to the staff and care givers at Southern Care Hospice.
