Born in Commerce, Mr. Carlton was the son of the late Clommie Gipson Carlton and Evelyn Dillard Carlton. He drove a special education bus for the Madison County Board of Education for 22 years, loved drag racing, Dodge trucks and working on vehicles.
Survivors include wife, Cynthia “Cindy” Hunter Carlton; children, Corbett Gibson Carlton, Gary Miller (Ginger), Brian Miller (Tammy) and Todd Miller (Tracy); twin brother, Willard Carlton; sisters, Ann Saye (Tommy) and Nancy Thornton (Bob); grandchildren, Jenna Miller, Max Miller, Macaulee Miller and Brady Faulk; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
