

A native of Tupelo, Mississippi, he was the son of Dr. William and Mary Alice Kahlstorf. Erik was baptized and raised in the Calvary Baptist Church of Tupelo and as a young man enjoyed soccer, scuba diving, water skiing and snow skiing. He attended summer camp at Camp Alpine and was a counselor at Camp Carolina. Erik graduated from Tupelo High School in 1990 and later attended the University of Mississippi where he was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. After graduating with a B.B.A in Marketing in 1994, Erik married his Ole Miss sweetheart Meredith Bush Kahlstorf in 1996.
In 1999, after working for Ferguson Enterprises in Greenville, South Carolina, Erik and his wife Meredith moved back to her hometown of Athens, Ga. Erik worked briefly for Devore and Johnson and eventually entered into the pharmaceutical sales industry where he quickly became a highly successful and highly awarded Executive Specialty Sales Representative who was admired and respected by all of his peers and clients. While working for Salix Industries he was a five-time President’s Club Winner for the years 2016, 2017, 2018, 2021 and 2022 when he was recognized as the #1 representative in the nation.
Erik was a member of the First Baptist Church of Athens, the Athens City Club and was a close and dear friend to many in the communities of Athens, Ga., Tupelo, MS and Oxford, MS. Above all else in his life, Erik loved, cherished and adored his wife of 27 years, Meredith and their two sons, Will and Charlie. He is survived by his wife, Meredith their two sons, Will and Charlie, his parents, Dr. William and Mary Alice Kahlstorf, his sister Ashley McCluney and many adoring nieces and nephews.
A service will be held at 1:30 p.m., on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at the First Baptist Church of Athens, located at 355 Pulaski St., Athens, Ga. 30601. A private burial will follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Athens YMCA at 915 Hawthorne Avenue, Athens, Ga. 30606 and the First Baptist Church of Athens at 355 Pulaski St., Athens, Ga. 30601.
