

Evelyn was born on October 19, 1931, to Eva Tyndal Waller and Albert Waller in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the youngest of six children.
She was a proud graduate of Ellis College, a private girls’ school in Newtown Square, PA, and spent more than a year in nursing training at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. She was married to Howard Williams, Jr., for 28 years, and later married Jack Rutherford of New Jersey.
She was the loving mother of Deborah (Tom) Harper, Stephen Williams, Barbara Marable and Janice (Bob) Woth. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her siblings Laura McFaul, Grace Stricker, Russell Waller, Robert Waller and Margaret McConnell.
Evelyn was active in several groups while living in Atlanta for many years: DeKalb County Road Runners, Saturday Hikers, Dynamo Swim Club water aerobics, and Decatur YMCA.
Evelyn’s family especially wants to thank the caring staff at Orchard at Athens, as well as the team at Family Hospice, for their excellent care filled with love and devotion.
Her family plans to have a private family Celebration of Life at a later time.
