She is survived by a daughter, Addie Wood Henderson and her husband, Fain Henderson, of Trade, Tennessee. Her husband, Roy Wood Jr., preceded her in death on August 9, 2021.
Evelyn was a member of Chapelwood United Methodist Church since 1980 where she served as President of the Homick Sunday school class and also taught children and adult classes.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, February 27, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at Bernstein Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 28, at 11:00 a.m., at Chapelwood United Methodist Church with Reverends Kathy Lamon and Blair Tolbert officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Chapelwood United Methodist Church, 100 Janice Drive, Athens, GA 30606.
