

Helen was born in Atlanta, Georgia, in Grady Hospital, to the late Orville and Louise Edwards Bramlett and was the oldest of four daughters. She graduated from Hoke Smith High School in 1947 and went on to attend the University of Georgia, where she met her future husband, Durand L. Dalton. Helen lived many years in Washington, DC, where she worked with the Internal Revenue Service for more than 36 years. After retiring from the IRS, she lived in Lawrenceville, Hamilton Mill and Athens for the past year. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Order of the Eastern Star. Helen loved to dance and was a member of The Sophisticated Ladies Dance Club, which entertained many times at The Follies in Lawrenceville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Durand L. Dalton; son, Michael Lee Dalton; and sister, Betty Watson.
Her sisters, Amelia B. Ponder of Bethlehem; and Margaret D. Moss of Auburn; and many nieces and nephews survive Helen.
A gathering of family and friends will be held 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, Wednesday, July 31, in Bernstein Funeral Home. A graveside funeral service will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park.
