Mrs. Nelms was born in Clarke County and was the daughter of the late Zacharias and Martha Elizabeth Griffith Spratlin. She was preceded in death by her husband Herman Jack Nelms and son Jerry Nelms. Mrs. Nelms was a homemaker and was a member at Victory Baptist Church.
Survivors include son Jack Nelms of Athens, granddaughter Jennifer, one great grandchild and daughter in law Annelle Nelms of Athens.
Graveside services will be 11am Monday, January 19th, at Evergreen Memorial Park with Rev. David Wofford officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-7pm Sunday at Bernstein.
