James Dean Ayers, Sr., 72, of Commerce, GA, died Friday, March 31st, 2017 after a brief battle with lung cancer. He was the son of J.D. and Claudia Ayers. He grew up in Kennesaw, GA resided in Woodstock, GA most of his life. James spent most of his life working in the concrete finishing business all over Georgia. He loved Little River and fishing, camping, spending time with his family and friends, his dogs and playing horse shoes. His nickname was Swivel because from his younger days of dancing. He loved racing and his GA Bulldogs. He is survived by 8 children, James Dean Ayers, Jr., Sonya Dills, Toni Waldrop, Kim Higdon, Bruce Sullivan, Terri Rollins, Dwayne Ayers and Brandy Ayers. He left 17 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
He is survived by 4 sisters, Sarah Johnson, Jane Calton, Martha Mayse and Jean Pratt. He was preceded in death by siblings George Ayers, Bill Ayers, Nancy Garrett, Thelma Tanner, Doris Thurman and Mark Ayers.
A memorial service will be held with family and friends at a later date at Fort Mountain, Chatsworth, GA. where he often spent much loved vacations.
