Mr. Edwards was the son of the late James William and Johnnie Fulcher Edwards. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Mary Lois Tolbert Edwards. Mr. Edwards was a member of West End Baptist Church. Survivors include children, Linda and Ruel Parker of Covington, Kathi Pearson of Pendleton, SC, Greg and Melanie Edwards of Athens; one sister, Margaret "Joe" Phillips of Watkinsville; grandchildren, JC Edwards of Hull and Lydia Parker, Adam and Carrie Parker both of Covington; great-grandchildren, Johnny, Joshua, and Daniel Parker, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2PM Tuesday, May 10th in the chapel at Bernstein Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8PM Monday at Bernstein.
Cards and verbal expressions of sympathy are welcomed in lieu of flowers.
