

James Michael Flack, 69, of Buckner, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at home on March 6, 2025, surrounded by his wife and son. Born August 12, 1955, in Buckner, Kentucky, James was the son of Willie Carroll Flack and the late Dorothy L. Flack.
James spent much of his career in the restaurant and service station industries, excelling at providing excellent customer service. He particularly enjoyed his time working at Captain D's, where he met his beloved wife of almost 28 years, D.D. Flack. Known for his outspoken nature and sharp sense of humor, James enjoyed joking and engaging with his customers. Though he could sometimes be direct or blunt, he genuinely cared about brightening his customers' days.
James deeply loved his dogs, Stuie and Cocoa, who adored him in return. They shared a special bond and were always visibly upset when separated from him.
James is survived by his devoted wife, D.D.; his son, Andrew Fair; his father, Willie Carroll Flack; siblings Debbie Flack-Martin and Jerry Flack; and grandchildren Isaac, Gemma, and Aaden. He is also survived by his children from a previous marriage: Jami, Jennifer, and Julie. James was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Flack, sister, Glenna Rae Flack, and his brother, Thomas "Tommy" Flack.
In keeping with James's wishes, no formal services will be held. To honor his memory, friends and family are invited to donate to their local Humane Society or another charitable organization of their choice in lieu of flowers.
James's memorable humor and unique personality will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
