Born on September 5, 1953 in Anderson, SC, Mr. Lyon was the son of the late James Lee Lyon Sr. and Dorothy Roach Norris. He worked as a mobile technician at Barloworld for many years, then was the owner of Uptime Industrial Maintenance. He was a mechanic and carpenter who could fix or build anything. He was an avid fisherman and musician, especially playing the guitar. Mr. Lyon was the first to help a friend with a project and was a longtime member of Night Riders Motorcycle Club. He loved his family, his longtime partner, Tami, and little dog, Rose.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Carey.
Survivors, in addition to his partner, Tamara “Tami” Dybala, include children: Melissa Lyon Fulcher, Lisa Lyon, and April Lyon; 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; siblings: Charles Lyon, Tommy Lyon (Jane), Greg Carey (Minja), and Vivian Knight; many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 26, at 2:00 p.m., in the Bernstein Funeral Home Chapel.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
