

A native of Chatsworth, Georgia she was the daughter of James Frederick McEnrire, Sr. of Athens and the late Jennie Mae (Jane) Smith McEntire. Mrs. Swanson attended Athens High School, Lagrange College and received her Master’s Degree from the University of Georgia. She had a wonderful career teaching art in the Clarke County School System then retiring from the Social Circle School System as a media specialist. Mrs. Swanson was also a faithful member of the Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Athens.
Survivors include sons William Nathan Swanson and wife Renee; Bennie Perry Swanson III and wife Rachel and John Thomas Swanson and wife Corey; brothers Thomas McEntire and wife Missy and James McEntire and wife Sherry; grandchildren Lindsey, Mac, Natalie, Alec, Austin, Lauren, Miller, Kate, Anna Bella and Roswell , countless nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Funeral services will be 10 am, Tuesday, January 31, 2013 , at the chapel of Bernstein Funeral Home with Rev. Hal Farnsworth and John Larson officiating. Interment will follow at 3PM in the Sumac Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Chatsworth.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Monday , December 30th at Bernstein.
