John was born in Buford, Georgia to the late John Hunter Coram, Sr. and Barbara Ellen Hubert Coram. He graduated from Franklin County High School and went on to attend the University of Georgia, where he served as student athletic trainer for the UGA football team. John worked many years in the irrigation business, working with the Russell Daniel Company, QGS Development and owned and operated JCI, before going to work with Shoemaker Irrigation, eight years ago. He was a member of the UGA Letterman’s Association, an avid UGA Football fan and enjoyed gardening.
In addition to his parents, his mother-in-law, Sydney Layman Bledsoe, preceded John in death.
John is survived by his wife, Francy Coram; children, John Hunter Coram, III and his wife, Brittany, Frank Hubert Coram and Elizabeth Coram Wells and her husband, Mark; sister, Catogni Coram Smith and her husband, Mike; grandchildren, John Hunter Coram, IV and Jasper Coram; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Sara and Nick Bledsoe; sister-in-law, Kate Capek and her husband, Charlie; and brother-in-law, Tom Bledsoe and his wife, Traci; nieces, Cati Rosson and Barbara Martin; and nephew, Neal Smith and their families.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, March 26, 2021 in the chapel of Bernstein Funeral Home with Reverend Ellen Gardener Cook officiating.
A private burial will held 2:00 PM Friday in Lavonia City Cemetery.
