A native of Athens, GA, Mr. Nixon was the son of Junie Davis Shedd and the late Rubin Eugene Nixon of Athens. He attended Cornerstone Church of God.
Survivors in addition to his mother include wife, Judy Barnett Nixon of Athens; children, Randy Eugene Nixon of Colbert, Sheryl Marie Nixon of Athens, Cindy Faye Braymiller of Colbert, and Timothy James Nixon of Colbert; sisters, Carolyn Benefield, Judy Reed, Angela Keen, Jackie Underwood, and Gina Smith, and 11 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 3PM Thursday, March 24th in the chapel at Bernstein Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Prospect Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8PM Wednesday, March 23rd at Bernstein.
