

Joyce was a Floral Designer and one that designed with excellence every time she stood at her worktable. In previous years, she designed for Flowers Inc. and The Flower and Gift Basket of Athens and was business owner of Floral Designs by Joyce in Watkinsville. She was known for her exquisite Christmas decorations and perfect ribbon making.
Joyce loved to cook and made the best sweet potato soufflé, banana pudding and peach cobbler you would ever taste. Joyce was an active member of Family Worship Center in Winterville with Rev. Derrick Jackson (Melinda) as Pastor.
She is preceded in death by her parents, N.A. Evans and Etoy Pullien Evans of Royston, and a sister, Fay Campbell of Athens.
Joyce is survived by her husband of 38 years, Benny Paul Poss; a daughter, Pamela (Gary) DiCarlo of Athens; and son, Christopher Poss of Hull. Joyce is also survived by her siblings, Anne Strickland of Colbert, Ivalyne Fulghum of Royston, Milton Evans of Watkinsville, Mary Cowart of Hull and Peggy Evans of Albany, New York.
Joyce leaves with us her two grandsons, Matthew Papp of Hull, Titus (Rebecca) Poss of Danielsville and a number of great-grandchildren that always brought a smile when she heard them call her “Nana J.” Great-grandchildren are Mason and Channing Papp; Brewer, Asher and Piper Poss; Dalton, Kaedan, Cameron and Alyssa Lowe.
A visitation for Joyce will be held Wednesday, June 11, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at Bernstein Funeral Home, 3195 Atlanta Hwy., Athens. A celebration of life will be held Thursday, June 12, 2025, at 2:00 PM, in the Bernstein Funeral Home Chapel. Joyce will be laid to rest in Evergreen Memorial Park, 3655 Atlanta Hwy., Athens.
Pallbearers will be Christopher Poss, Matthew Papp, Titus Poss, Douglas Stephenson, Jason Poss and Scott Campbell.
Bernstein Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
