Keith was born in Athens to the late Marvin Augustus and Margaret Ann Thompson Smith and graduated from Clarke Central High School. He lived several years in Crawford and Atlanta, before moving to Union Point seven years ago. Keith was a member of Lexington Baptist Church and was an avid fisherman.
In addition to his parents, Keith was preceded in death by sister, Connie Jackson and step-father, David Thompson.
He is survived by his son, Joshua “Josh” Smith and his wife, Kara of Charleston, SC; brother, Scott Smith and his wife, Cindy; and his former wife, Rebecca Smith of Lexington.
A private memorial service will be held in Lexington Baptist Church.
