Born April 30, 1955 in Bogart, Mrs. Slayton was the daughter of the late John Nathaniel Crowe and Hazel Autry Crowe.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by paternal grandparents: Luther C. Crowe and Lillie R. Crowe; maternal grandparents: Grover C. Autry and Myrtle R. Autry; son, James Wade Meeler and brothers: Bobby Crowe and Harry Crowe.
Survivors include husband, David L. Slayton; daughter, Kimberly Lynn Meeler; and grandchildren: Jessica Meeler and Nathan Meeler.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, February 17, at 1:30 p.m., at Evergreen Memorial Park, with Rev. Jeff Wilkes officiating.
The family will receive friends Saturday, February 17, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., at Bernstein Funeral Home.
