
Born January 31, 1920 in Barrow County she was the daughter of the late Willis Henry and Mattie Bell Patrick Cooper. Mrs. Jones was also preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Albert Warren Jones, a granddaughter Pamela Jeanne Jones and several siblings and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Mrs. Jones had lived most of her life in Athens, was employed at the Elephant Trunk for several years and was a longtime member of the Athens First Christian Church.
Mrs. Jones always held her family close to her heart and loved them dearly. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were the joy of her life and her family was very blessed to have her for 94 years.
Survivors include children Warren Cecil Jones and wife Jeanne of Fayetteville, Ark, Cooper Ross Jones and wife Nancy of Little Rock, Ark and Rosemary Mathews Veneklasen and husband David of Clinton, SC, grandchildren Laura Jones, Heather Atendido, David Mathews, Rick Mathews, Jill Jones, Priscilla Rhodes, Amy Scurlock, Meredith Martin, Cade Martin and Sage Zobel, 20 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2pm Saturday, January 3rd at the chapel of Bernstein Funeral Home with Rev. Ray Austin and Rev. Alan Mace officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Saturday beginning at 1PM.
Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the Laurens First Baptist Church, 300 West Main Street, Laurens, SC., 29360.
