Mike was born in Atlanta at Crawford W. Long Hospital and moved to Augusta then Durham for the start of his father’s heating and air conditioning career before Athens in 1958.
Mike attended The Bolles School in Jacksonville, FL and later graduated from Clarke Central High School in Athens. Mike played football and baseball. His athleticism continued into his adult life and he was active competing in triathlons.
He held General Contractor licenses in both Georgia and Florida. Mike has the accomplishment of receiving one of the highest test scores ever made in the state of Florida. Building homes across the southeast, he often found himself returning to Athens after time in Florida once a project was complete. Most recently he lived on Big Pine Key building and remodeling homes.
At the time of death, Mike was survived by his father, Paul Talmadge Martin, mother, Barbara Rigby Willis, and only child, Kelly Martin Marlowe (Cord).
A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
