Millard was born on October 15, 1931 in Mobile, Alabama to the late Elsie G. and Millard F. Berry, Sr.
Millard graduated in 1950 from Sidney Lanier High School in Montgomery, Alabama and graduated from Auburn University in 1965 with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He was honorably discharged of the U.S. Army Reserve and he retired after 40 years of service with the Georgia Power Company, retiring in 1989. Millard worked for The Tax Shelter in Athens, Georgia for 25 years.
Millard is remembered as a kind and generous friend, husband, father and grandfather. He was a devoted member of Beech Haven Baptist Church and Glory Sunday School class, and was active in the local Georgia Power Ambassadors Chapter.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, and mother to his sons, Patsy (Pyron) Berry and his brother, Charles G. Berry.
He is survived by his wife Linda Stephens Berry of Athens, brother James D. (Marie) Berry of Equality, Alabama and sister, Sue Wood, of Farmington, New Mexico, two sons, Richard Douglas Berry of Danielsville, Georgia and Stephen (Katherine) Berry of Berea, Kentucky, stepson Sandy (Ronda) Stephens of Toccoa, Georgia, 3 grandchildren, Kimberly (Chris) Gay, Tanya Berry, and Henry H. Berry, and 6 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 3 p.m., Sunday, September 27, 2020, in the Bernstein Funeral Home chapel with burial to follow at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery, 3655 Atlanta Hwy., Athens, Georgia.
Visitation will be 2 p.m.until time of service Sunday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the Berry family requests that donations be made to the Beech Haven Baptist Church Building Fund, 2390 West Broad Street, Athens, GA 30606.
