Pat was born in Athens, GA to Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hoke Edwards on December 17, 1939, and was a graduate of Athens High School, where she was a cheerleader and was on the homecoming court. She was a fulltime Mom and wife and was involved in every aspect of both her boys’ sports teams, from coaching cheerleading to a fan in the stands for every game. She loved her flower gardens, and along with her husband, Jimmy, planted and nurtured flower gardens at their home for all to enjoy. But most of all she was a servant to the Lord and will be missed by all that knew her.
Survivors include husband, Jimmy Mitchell, children: Scott and Kathy Mitchell of Claremont, NC. and Blake Mitchell of Watkinsville, GA. She was preceded in death by her parents: Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hoke Edwards; and sister, Shirley Thompson.
A small private service will be held by the family.
