Paula Bernstein Putnam passed away peacefully at age 90 in Lake Mary, Florida on November 30, 2025. Daughter of Anne Berns and Jake Bernstein, she was born on April 3, 1935 in Athens, Georgia. Growing up in her hometown of Athens, she learned to love scuppernongs and Georgia peaches. She carried her Southern roots into all that she did throughout her life.
After graduating from the University of Georgia, she taught second grade for a year before marrying and having children. She lived in Washington state and Japan before moving to the greater Orlando area where she lived for the rest of her life. Paula became a successful realtor and investor. She loved playing tennis, duplicate bridge, and spending time with her friends and family.
She is survived by her two daughters, Ellie Putnam and Kathryn Yarborough, her two grandsons Ben Frauenknecht and Kendrik Yarborough, and her beloved nieces and nephews.
A service will be held at Bernstein Funeral Home in Athens, Georgia, on Thursday, December 11 at 2:00 p.m. to celebrate Paula’s life.
