Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Philip was a son of David C. Sherman of Loganville and the late Susan Eastman Sherman. He worked as a machinist in the automotive business at Hitachi Corp.
Survivors, in addition to his father, include his sons, Jeffrey Sherman and Sam Sherman, both of Athens; brothers, Dave Sherman (Tonya) of Loganville and Ken Sherman (Joleen) of McDonough, as well as other extended family.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 28 from 6-8 p.m. at Bernstein Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 29 at 11 a.m. at the chapel of Bernstein Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park.
