Born in Bogart, Georgia, in December 1929, Mrs. Logan was the seventh child of late John Henry Manus and Irene Hemrick Manus. She grew up in Oconee County and Clarke County, graduated from Athens High School in 1948, and went on to work as an office assistant. On Christmas Eve of 1951, life became more complete as she married William Truman Logan at Central Baptist Church in Athens. Their union was blessed with 54 years of marriage and three daughters.
Mr. and Mrs. Logan owned Logan Paving Company. For many years, Mrs. Logan championed her office expertise and operated as the office manager. She later owned and managed rental properties.
Mrs. Logan enjoyed traveling. A favorite pastime of hers was visiting Lake Rabun, especially during the Fourth of July holiday to watch fireworks. She also enjoyed working in her community and church. As an avid Bible scholar and a devout Baptist, she was a loyal member of Beech Haven Baptist Church of Athens and taught Sunday School most of her adult life.
She enjoyed the last seven years of her life as a resident of Talmage Terrace in Athens, spending time with many friends who lived there.
Mrs. Logan loved her family and leaves behind a lasting legacy with countless treasured memories of travel, her cooking, a special magnolia tree, trips to The Varsity, and so much more. She will be lovingly remembered for these gifts, as well as her unique quick wit and attention to detail.
