Sam was retired from DuPont and the University of Georgia. His pride and joy was his family and he loved country music, the UGA bulldawgs and tending to his yard.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Debbie Bugg.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Whitmore; son, Greg Whitmore; son-in-law, Perry Bugg; granddaughters, Amanda Bugg Reddick (Dusty) and Ashley Bugg Brown (Brandon); and three great-grandchildren, Ella, Evan and Easton.
The service will be 1 p.m., Tuesday, July 10, at the Cornerstone Church with Scott Sheppard officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park.
Family will receive friends Tuesday from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the church.
Bernstein Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
