A native of Apalachee, Ms. Fields was the daughter of the late Herman Beale and Kathryn Barnett Beale. She retired as lunchroom manager at Whitehead Road Elementary School in Athens. Ms. Fields was an active member of Bishop Baptist Church where she participated in the Joyful Hearts Bible Study and the Women’s Missionary Union. She especially enjoyed cooking for the Wednesday night children’s ministry at the church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Beale; and a niece, Tere Beale.
A loving mother and grandmother, she is survived by daughters: Sherrie Crowe (Greg) of Bishop and Sheila Crowthers (Ed) of Jefferson; grandchildren: Hayden Gregory, Jason Crowthers, Joe Crowthers and Julia Crowthers; and nieces: Genie Beale and Kristina Beale.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 7, at 11:00 a.m., at Bishop Baptist Church, with Brother Terry Richardson and Rev. Le Gibson officiating. Interment will follow in Bishop Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday, December 6, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Bernstein Funeral Home.
