Penny was known for her warm heart, bright spirit, and the kindness she extended to everyone she met. She carried a quiet strength and a loving presence that touched family, friends, and all who were blessed to know her.
A true music lover, Penny filled her life with songs that brought her joy, comfort, and connection. She also had a deep appreciation for art and culture, becoming an avid collector of Japanese furniture, art, figurines, pottery, and crystal. Her beautiful collection reflected her creativity, her eye for beauty, and her love for surrounding herself with meaningful and unique treasures.
She is survived by her beloved children Angela, Amanda, and Anthony, who will forever cherish the love, guidance, and unwavering support she gave them. Penny was the proud grandmother of three grandchildren and the joyful great-grandmother of one cherished great-grandchild, each of whom brought her tremendous pride and happiness.
Penny is also survived by her three younger brothers—Jeffrey, Jeff, and Chuck—and their extended families, all of whom remember her with deep affection and gratitude for the love and connection she brought into their lives.
Her legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched—through her generosity, her humor, her love of music, and her devotion to family.
As the quote by Susan Gale beautifully reminds us: ‘Mothers are like glue. Even when you can’t see them, they’re still holding the family together.’
Penny will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
A memorial service will be held at Greater Bethel AME Church, located at 140 Rose Street, Athens, Georgia 30601, on Saturday, March 7, 2026, starting at 1:00 pm.
